Former running back Zac Stacy was outed as a perpetrator of domestic violence this week when video of him brutally attacking his ex-girlfriend was shared online. Now, other NFL players and people in the sports world are denouncing him and his actions.
Stacy was reportedly visiting ex Kristin Evans and their five-month-old son in her home over the weekend when he flew into a rage over something. Via two different camera angles, he was caught hitting her repeatedly, grabbing her arms, and throwing her into a television, all while their son cried in the background.
The video sent shockwaves across the internet for the brutality of it all, causing multiple people associated with the NFL to speak out against Stacy and his abuse.
Many others also condemned Stacy’s violence.
And others expressed hope that domestic violence accusations will be taken this seriously when there isn’t a camera present to show just how bad things are.
Evans thanked people for their support in a video and shared her frustration over her belief that Stacy’s friends may have been hiding him while police were looking to arrest the former Jets player.
She also shared photos of the injuries she allegedly received from the attack and noted that this abuse was part of a gradual escalation of violence that had been ongoing since she first got pregnant.
Stacy was ultimately found and arrested by Orlando police on Thursday night. He has been charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief, both felonies. No bond has been set.
