In a year gripped by a global pandemic, civil unrest, and a United States presidential election that seemingly won’t end due to the current White House tenant refusing to concede—it would stand to reason that most of us are grappling with finding things to be thankful about this Thanksgiving. After all, even if you’re actually seeing your family for the holiday, it could end up with grandma in a body bag, which would make for a decidedly depressing Christmas or Hanukkah.
But hey! On the plus side, if you’ve decided to stay home for the holidays, at least you get to skip over politically charged conversation with your uncle who has upgraded from run-of-the-mill “crazy” to full-on QAnon truther. So, glass half full? In either case, if you’re finding 2020’s Thanksgiving to be as much of a bummer as the rest of this dumpster fire of a year, at least you’re not alone. At the very least, we can all laugh about it, as evidenced by these funny Thanksgiving tweets. Maybe 2021 will be better?
