Mariah Carey’s festive holiday banger, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” is somehow now over a quarter of a century old, yet, the song’s popularity has only intensified over the years. In 2019, Carey even released a brand new music video to commemorate the 25th anniversary of “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which had just landed at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for the first time ever.
Mariah, clad in her figure-hugging Santa suit and feathery angel wings, is such a mood that it should not come as a huge surprise that her holiday look has been made into a Christmas ornament. It's unclear where the ornament in question came from, which was shared by CNN Politics senior campaign editor Kyle Blaine last week.
"My husband and I exchange ornaments every year and this year he got me Mariah Carey which is very festive!" wrote Blaine.
Unfortunately, the ornament is not the most well crafted Christmas ornament. "Mariah" seems to be missing half of an eye and eyebrow; both of which sit crookedly on her face. The glittery hair is a nice touch but overall we'd probably suggest whoever made it head back to the drawing board.
So too, would our Queen and Holy Goddess Mariah Carey herself, who probably noticed that she was tagged in Blaine's original tweet, and weighed in herself. "This is ... not approved," she wrote, with a neutral face emoji.
She did add, however, that it was the thought that counts because her royal highness is nothing if not a benevolent ruler.
But apparently, Blaine wasn't the only one to get duped by the ornament, as others shared their own unfortunate Mariah ornaments.
But when all was said and done, at least Blaine had a good sense of humor about it, photoshopping the sad Mariah ornament's face onto an image of Carey's Christmas album.
Hey, there are worse things to get for Christmas, right? And even the worst Mariah Carey ornament is better than no Mariah Carey ornament, in our humble opinion.
