A petition calling for Kanye West’s removal from the 2022 Coachella lineup has hit its 35,000 signature goal and is still going strong.

According to the description of the petition, “We have watched Kanye harass, manipulate, and hurt Kim, Pete, and others for over a year now. No one seems to want to stand up to him, and the ones that do, he puts under fire as well. Most recently, he has been threatening actual bodily harm on others.”

The petition is referencing the numerous occasions in which West has written about harming ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s new boyfriend, Pete Davidson (whom he calls “Skete”) and excusing it as “artistic expression.”

“This is ridiculous that he is allowed to freely do this,” says the petition organizer. “Coachella (along with other brand names that are still working with him) should be ashamed of themselves and should not be giving him any more of a platform.”

The petition organizer is Caramello Marie, who runs the Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson fan account @kimandpeteupdates on Instagram. At the time this was written, the petition had garnered 35,285 signatures, surpassing the original goal of 35k. They’ve extended the signature goal to 50k.

On March 17, Marie posted a thank you update, saying, “The traction for this is really starting to build and I am so grateful. Also find us on Instagram: KimandPeteUpdates”

This is the latest of petitions relating to the 2022 Coachella music festival.

In January of this year, a petition was started to bring back Travis Scott, a friend and frequent collaborator of Kanye West’s, to the Coachella lineup. He was removed from the festival after November’s fatal Astroworld Festival concert, where fans rushed the stage and ten were killed. Scott continued playing for 37 minutes after Houston police officials declared the concert a “mass casualty event.”

The petition was investigated by the team and found to have used over 60,000 fraudulent signatures, after which the petition was removed from the website.

A spokesperson reported to BuzzFeed News that “The petition was found to contain fraudulent signatures, which were removed. After further investigation, our team discovered that the petition had produced several fraudulent attempts, which forced a complete removal of the petition.”

As of Tuesday, a representative stated that its most recent review of the Kanye West petition showed “no irregular activity,” according to Complex.

In addition to Kanye West, the 2022 Coachella lineup includes names such as Billie Eilish, Danny Elfman, Harry Styles, Måneskin and Carly Rae Jepsen. West threatened in February to pull out of the festival over what he perceived to be a slight against Travis Scott by Billie Eilish. He did not follow through on the threat, however, and is still scheduled to perform at the festival.
