The Memorial Day weekend likely contained a lot of adventures for people, but I think this 17-year-old name Hailey might have the best visual evidence of her wild weekend. Footage of Hailey shoving a literal bear off a wall to save her dogs went viral after her cousin Branda posted it on TikTok.

The video was taken in California on May 31st, according to Newsweek, right in Hailey’s backyard.

Branda also posted the video to her Instagram with the caption, “My cousin Hailey (@bittersweet.brat) just fought a f-cking mama bear and won! How’s your Memorial Day weekend?!”

In the beginning, two bear cubs can be seen with the mama bear, and they are mostly minding their own business until a little squad of dogs runs up barking at them. Being a mama bear, she starts swiping at them, and actually snatches one dog off the ground from up on her perch. That’s when Hailey runs across the yard in full Mama Bear mode herself:

She gives the bear a shove and she topples backward. The bear rights herself then runs off after her cubs, and Hailey gathers her dogs up and rushes them back to the house. The phrase “help the bear” started trending on Twitter when the video made it to that platform because people thought Hailey was so badass:

And also because of the Mystikal classic line “ever see me fightin’ on the forest with a grizzly bear HELP THE BEAR.”

The TikTok has had millions of views, and Hailey went to her account to recount what happened.

“I go over to the bear, I look it in the eyes and the first thing I think to do is push it. Push a bear, push an apex predator,” she said. “To be honest, I don’t think I pushed her that hard. I just pushed her enough to make her lose her balance, so she dropped my dog and I ran out of there. I grabbed my other dog, I sprained my finger and scraped my knee, but we’re all OK.”

Alls well that ends well, especially a bear attack.
