Future broke up with Lori Harvey in August of 2020, according to Complex, and she was seen soon after with actor Michael B. Jordan. They seem to still be going strong. Less than a year later, Future is rapping about his old relationship on 42 Dugg’s new album Free Dem Boyz. Is that too soon? Or too late?
On “Maybach,” the lyrics Future wrote sure makes it seem as though he was the one who broke up with Lori, using her dad’s name to make his point.
“Magic City, I’m the owner,” he raps. “Tell Steve Harvey I don’t want her/One thing I never seen was a bitch to leave.”
Yeah, it’s possible he broke up with Lori Harvey and not the other way around. On the other hand, we can all plainly see that was probably the best thing that ever happened to her because even Steve Harvey likes Michael B. Jordan.
In an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Harvey hinted that he was the one who cut Future out of the picture. Talking about Jordan, Harvey said, “I have tried not to like him. I have tried to find something wrong with him that I could dig in and go…’cause I done got rid of all of them. All of them. Some of them snuck in the back door on me and lasted a lot longer than I wanted it to.”
“But this guy, is such a good guy. He is one of the nicest guys. I’ve met his father. I’ve sat up with him, we’ve talked for hours. I just can’t find anything wrong with him.”
In an unreleased song he made with Gunna and Young Thug, Future has rapped about Lori before. She was seen wearing an Audemars Piguet, which he supposedly gives to all the girls he dates. In the song, he says buying her a watch was “nothing” to him and didn’t make a dent in his fortune.
Nothing says you’re over somebody like mentioning them constantly.
