Migos rapper Offset recorded an incident with Beverly Hills police on Saturday, which unfolded on Instagram Live in real-time. The 28-year-old was stopped after allegedly waving a gun while driving through a MAGA rally, and was subsequently detained by police—but not before his wife Cardi B almost threw down with officers.

As the video starts, Offset (full name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) can be heard saying to the officers, “I’m not doing that, I’m not doing that. Because you’ve got guns out. Though, it’s unclear what transpired before that moment.

“I’m not going to move my hands from my steering wheel,” Offset adds, after a male officer responds, “that’s my choice.” “We were told that you guys were waving guns,” chimed in a female officer. Tensions quickly mounted, as the scene was swarmed by fans, some of whom also began recording the incident.

“You know who I am? Offset from the Migos,” the rapper explains. “They’re fans, that’s why they’re following me.”

The female officer continues accusing Offset, who was accompanied by Cardi B’s cousin, Marcel Almánzar, in the passenger seat. “You just watched somebody beat my car up with a flag,” retorts Offset. “What are you talking about?”

“You told me to put my hands up, I’m not doing that,” he adds. “There’s 25,000 people on my Live. You’re going to get sued publicly.”

At that point, both officers forcibly open Offset’s door, despite his protests, and the video ends abruptly.

Amid the confusion, a few bystanders caught footage of Cardi B, who arrived on the scene just as her man was getting dragged from the car by police. She can be seen quickly jumping into the fray screaming at the cops to release her husband.

Offset was eventually released without charge, however, Almanzar was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a loaded firearm in public. He was later released on $35,000 bail

“At approximately 5:02 p.m., Beverly Hills Police received information from a passerby of a subject who pointed a weapon from a vehicle at him; in the area of South Santa Monica Blvd and N. Beverly Drive,” said a department spokesperson in a statement to CBS 2 Los Angeles. “The passerby provided a license plate to the vehicle, and the vehicle was stopped by patrol units a short distance away. After the on-scene investigation, the passenger in the vehicle was arrested,” Beverly Hills police said.”
